June Currently- NO WAY!

A little birdie (AKA, my iPhone calendar) told me it was June 1st!! NO WAY! Today is my nephew's 3rd birthday, but that isn't why I remembered it was Currently time! It was the reminder on my calendar. And I didn't put it all together until I sat down at my computer tonight! OY! Here is what I am "currently" up to:
1. We finally got the boys to bed tonight. It has been a long and exhausting day. Summer mode is starting, but it does not officially start until Friday in our house. However, my 2 boys are trying to start it earlier. They were up watching the KINGS defeat the Blackhawks WAY beyond their bed time! Go Kings! So, now the hubs and I are catching up on email, work and, of course, blogging!

2.Summer starts at the end of the week! Thursday is the last day with my kiddos. Friday is a work day and then I am FREE!!!!

3.My day started with a  5:45 wake up call for my youngest son's baseball tournament. Plus side about waking up that early on a Sunday, no one else is on the road, so we got to the tournament fast! HA! Then, tonight we had an earthquake to shake things up. Everyone is fine, but my youngest was in the shower at the time and FREAKED out! He had a LONG recovery time!  Now, I am wiped out and ready for bed!

4.I have all my grades entered in my report cards, but now it is the dreaded comment section that I need to fill out. Hope this goes better than expected. I loath this part of the report cards. The comments I get to choose from never fully express how I feel about each student. I wish we could write them in by hand.

5. This year has been trying on myself and my school staff. Our principal retired early for medical reasons. We have had 3 different interm principals since February. We don't know who our new principal will be. Then, Friday evening, we found out one of our veteran teachers at our school passed away suddenly. The black storm cloud needs to blow on through and a rainbow needs to shine down on us! We are a close community and will support one another through this time, but we are not sure how much more we can handle. Summer cannot come soon enough!

6. I can't wait for the hubs and I to go to Napa in a couple of weeks. The hotel is finally booked and now we are planning where to eat and which wineries to visit. Any suggestions?  AND of course...VEGAS in July! I can't wait to finally meet all my blogging peeps in person and spend the weekend bonding in person.

I am also looking forward to turning my alarm clock OFF and leaving it off all summer. I hate that darn thing. Just let me wake up on my own. It makes me a much happier person.

This summer I want to exercise more or how about at all. I always put it on the back burner. Now that summer is here, the excuses need to stop and I need to get back on track. Fingers crossed. I need to be focused and hold myself accountable!

Make sure to link up with Farley and tell us what you are currently up to also!

  1. Hi, following Farley's rule of three on Currently! I already follow your blog and read many of your posts. Napa....so lucky!!! I'm jealous! I'm also dreading finishing my report cards and agree....I so dread the comments...it's the most time consuming part. Luckily, our principal has to approve our comments and therefore they were due Friday. Thanks to her, those are done. Now I just have to enter the grades and attendance. Hang in there...you're almost done!!! My last day is Thursday!

  2. Hi! Your bucket list is awesome! Its great to know that I am not the only person who doesn't want to have a set time to get up for the next couple of months lol!! I don't think I'd be able to handle an earthquake!! I'm glad everyone is okay on your end though! It is horrible to hear about your teacher friend passing. A vacation to Napa sounds really nice! I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time!! You sound like me with your exercising! lol I always tend to think of some excuse! Good luck!! On it all!

  3. Well much of your currently sounds eerily familiar. I too am ready for no alarm clock. Last day Thursday, teacher work day Friday ditto. We just found out today at our staff meeting that our principal/superintendent is leaving. So who knows what lies ahead. I hope we don't have to go through as many interm principals as you have had to. So I will be sending up prayers for the both of us. I too am super excited for Vegas. First I will be attending the I Teach K conference, and then I can't wait to go to the blogger meet up and see the "celebrity" bloggers in person..lol. Have a great time in Napa, I have heard it is beautiful!

  4. Happy almost summer! I am also a California blogger, northern California. Where are you. Napa is great! If you are in Sonoma at all, Ravenswood is a fun, friendly winery. My husband is a beer drinker, so we ate at a restaurant in downtown Sonoma called Hopmonk. It had great wine and beer, so it pleased both of us. Enjoy Napa and I will see you in Vegas!
